Shanghai Pudong International Airport, China

Shanghai Pudong International Airport is the third busiest airport in Mainland China and handles a total of 17.518,790 international passengers in 2007. It is also the 8th busiest airport in Asia in terms of passenger traffic. Shanghai Pudong International Airport is organized around two main passenger terminals, flanked on both sides by three parallel runways. Current airport masterplan call for the building of a third passenger terminal, a satellite terminal and two additional runways by 2015.

Pteris Global was engaged to design and build the Baggage Handling Systems for Shanghai Pudong International Airport in anticipation in the surge in passengers capacity that is expected to reach 22 million in 2010 and 40 million in 2015.
