Cairo Airport is obtaining an International extreme importance being the main gate of the Capital of Egypt & its destination to adapt all of Aviation movements & activities around the World, which has an important impact on the country’s economic income in engagement with various interested governmental, security, Airlines & businesses parties to realize performance integrity enhancing the loyalty of Egyptian Civil Aviation customers which is governed by a set of laws, regulations, national & International standards.
Terminal 3, which was allocated for domestic flights, has been upgraded into an international hall. There is also a multi-story underground garage had been constructed to serve those who need long-time parking.
There are high expectations that the renovations will help the 40-years old hub to keep up with the increased air traffic coming up into Egypt, as well as the changes in modern aviation that have taken place since the airport was first built
A reliable Baggage Handling Systems is of utmost importance to meet with the demand. Pteris Global was awarded the task in September 24, 2017 to design, manufacture, install, test and commission a fully-automated Baggage Handling Systems for Cairo International Airport, Terminal 3. The project phase 1 was successfully completed and operation on December 2021
Among the systems supplied, belt conveyors measuring a total length 3km were installed in the new terminal, with two Tilt Tray Sorter (TTS) for sorting of baggage destination has the capability to sorting bags at a rate of 500 bags per minute.
