Pteris Global Limited completed the project for Tocumen International Airport in the Republic of Panama in November 2006 in the design and building of its baggage handling system. The contract was awarded by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) on behalf of the Tocumen International Airport Authority (TIA). Pteris Global supplied the entire integrated system and its high-level control software for the airport. This was Pteris Global’s first project in the Latin American region and further augmented our track record of handling projects worldwide.
The new baggage handling system included a complete integration of high-level computerized controls for flight allocation, baggage tracking and maintenance diagnostic system. The System is designed to handle up to 7 million passengers a year.
The Pteris Global project team stationed at Panama had the honor to welcome Singapore’s Foreign Affairs Minister Brigadier George Yeo and his team of delegates in 2006, and Deputy Prime Minister Dr. Jayakumar in 2007, on their state visits to Panama. They were given a first-hand tour on our Baggage Handling Systems in the Tocumen International Airport.
