Dubai International Airport is the major hub for the Middle East, and is the main airport in Dubai. The new $4.5 billion Terminal 3 started operation on 14 October 2008. The terminal increases the airport's maximum passenger capacity annually by 43 million, bringing the total annual capacity up to 60 million passengers.
